I guess it’s just fair to end my ’90s set with a song from the band that inspired me to play rock music. If not for these guys, I wouldn’t even be playing guitar right now! Can you imagine that?
So that’s it for my Friday “Slide” playlist, I hope you guys liked it. I’d probably do this again next week because I just can’t get enough of ’90s music.
And to wrap up today’s Slide playlist of mine, here’s a track (with a sick bass line) from the OST of the 1993 film Coneheads.
It’s called Soul To Squeeze by Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Of course a ’90s set won’t be complete without this song, let alone this band that consists Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic, and Dave Grohl. I still remember listening to this song at home and being reprimanded by my mom because it’s “noisy” (don’t worry, my mom listens to Trivium now) LOL.
Need I say more? It’s Smells Like Teen Spirits by Nirvana. \m/
This band is definitely one my favorite bands during the Alternative Nation days. I love this song so much I still know how to play this on the guitar even if it’s already almost two decades past.
This is Satellite by the great Dave Matthews Band.
I was listening to Jam 88.3 earlier while I was on my way to work and found out that they have this day-long program called “Slide” every Friday in which the DJs play songs from decades past. It actually made me feel a bit nostalgic especially when I heard some of the songs from the bands/artists that I listen to when I was younger. So in light of that, allow me to share 3 (or 5) of my favorite songs from the ’90s (Yes, I’m a ’90s kid).
